BAY CITY, MI — Excited Goat Coffee Co.’s iced lavender and oat milk latte and sweet cream cold brew are two cool drinks to try as the weather heats up.
The lavender and oat milk latte, flavored with lavender syrup and local honey, has been popular all spring, and the sweet cream cold brew, a creamy, layered drink, is brand new for summer.
“It’s a house-made sweet cream at the bottom, and we pour the cold brew on top,” said Josh Sharrow, who owns Excited Goat Coffee Co. with his sister Rachelle Ranville. The pair previously owned City Grind at City Market.
Excited Goat opened in December at 1480 W. Center Road in the Hampton Plaza in Essexville. Sharrow said Excited Goat is “like a mix between a country bar and a coffee shop.”
“We don’t necessarily have an all-the-time coffee shop vibe,” he said. “Sometimes the music’s a little loud and people can have fun.”
Excited Goat serves coffee from Midland-based Creation Coffee, and all drinks on the menu can be made iced or hot. Sharrow said serving locally-roasted coffee means a better product for Excited Goat customers.
“That freshness and level of customer service that Creation provides to us is amazing, and that’s what makes the coffee so good,” he said.
