Most of us don’t get enough protein in our diets. The average person requires 0.9 grams per kilogram of body weight. One great way to start your day off with a protein boost full of other nutritional punches…is with overnight oats. It’s just what it sounds like…you prepare the oats ahead of time, so they can soak up the liquid overnight.

You can fill your cup with all the goodness you desire. As for what you put in there…it’s a great opportunity to add protein, fiber and probiotics.

You’ll need old-fashioned rolled oats. Steel cut doesn’t work that well because they don’t absorb the liquid you’ll be adding.
Add your choice of milk, Greg and Audra use unsweentened almond for a healthier option. Then add in some vanilla greek yogurt, chia seeds, and any toppings you want! Audra topped theirs with protein granola.
*Total protein in theirs: 40 grams. The average person requires 60 grams per day.
