Jakera told VegOut, “I've always wanted to work for myself and build a brand that I truly believed in. Like many people around the globe, [2020] impacted me in more ways than one. Prior to creating Oat Butter I was building my client base doing virtual assistance. I had long-term clients one day, and zero the next. I took what could have been a devastating, overwhelming, and earth-shattering moment, and chose to create something meaningful out of it. I wasn't truly passionate about every job I've had up until this point. I was determined to spend the rest of my life doing what I absolutely love. So, I started the journey of creating Oat Butter.”
Jakera is committed to changing the way Black communities eat and discuss food. She adds, “Oat Butter is special because it's the newest oat-based spread that was intentionally made to support the heart and mind and empower people to show up to their day fully focused and energized. I created Oat Butter to be a healthy snack that packs in all the goods, without the guilt. It is at the tasty intersection of a spreadable nut butter and thick cookie dough.”
Jakera recommends eating the Oat Butter straight from the jar, with apples or even on pancakes.
