Leading plant-based milk brand MILKLAB has launched its long-awaited MILKLAB Oat milk, which has been specially designed for coffee drinkers.

According to the latest Café Pulse Report 2021, oat milk has been the fastest growing plant-based milk in out of home café beverages during COVID-19 trading.

The report found that almond milk is still the milk of choice accounting for 59 per cent of all plant-based milk orders, followed by soy at 31 per cent and oat milk at eight per cent. However, oat milk is tipped to overtake almond milk in the next four years as the preferred milk of choice.

The oat milk craze has only just started to cause a froth in Australia, with the recent Café 2025 report revealing sales of oat milk coffees have grown 425 per cent in cafes since June 2017.

MILKLAB is Australian made and owned, using ingredients from local farmers. Created with 100 per cent premium Australian oats and no added sugar, MILKLAB Oat boasts an indulgent oat flavour and creamy consistency that pours perfectly with any coffee type.

Almost two years in the making, MILKLAB chose to take the time to tweak, curate and perfect MILKLAB Oat for coffee drinkers, tested and validated by Australia’s best and brightest baristas.

MILKLAB General Manager of Marketing Serge Costi says that this is the year of oat milk.

“It’s the fastest growing plant-based milk, and we’re only just beginning to see the craze take off in Australia. MILKLAB Oat has been developed in collaboration with baristas, with the single aim of creating the perfect alternative milk to enhance the coffee experience.”

MILKLAB Oat is the latest product in the portfolio including award-winning almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, dairy milk, lactose-free milk, and macadamia milk.

MILKLAB Oat will initially be available at café facilities including through the petrol and convenience channel before being rolled out more widely and available on shelves.
