According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, the nation's consumer price index rose by 1.5% year-on-year in October. The data shows that food prices dropped by 2.4% from last year, but rose by 1.7% from last month due to heavy rainfall and the various effects of Covid-19.

The producer price index, measuring the costs of goods at the factory gate, rose by 13.5% year on year in October, up 2.5% from last year. The prices of vegetables have gone up, and it is a big contributor to the rise in the consumer price index in October.
