Voluntary Recall of Dole Fresh Vegetable’s Endless Summer Salad Kit Announced Due to Allergens
On the 29th of January 2021, The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the voluntary recall of Dole Fresh Vegetable Inc.’s Endless Summer Salad Kit, due to allergens such as fish and egg being undeclared in the product. During the production of this Endless Summer Salad, the incorrect masterpack (topping kit) and dressing were used, leading to the problem of having possible undeclared fish and egg allergens. Individuals with fish and egg allergies, according to the FDA, “run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product”. However, to date, no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to Dole Fresh Vegetables having been caused by the Endless Summer Salad Kit’s undeclared allergens.
The affected product, the Endless Summer Salad Kit, was distributed across the nation in WI, AZ, WA, CA, UT, CO, TX, IA, PA, ID, IL and OR. The Dole Fresh Vegetable’s Endless Summer Salad Kit has a UPC of 0-71430-01073-0, Best If Used By Date of January 26th, 2021, and Lot Code B00912A B00912B. On the bottom right corner of each bag the UPC Code can be found, and on the upper right corner the Best If Used By Date and the product lot code are located.
Only Dole Fresh Vegetable’s Endless Summer Salad Kit with the exact UPC Code, Use By Date, and Lot Code listed above are affected. No other Dole Fresh Vegetables products are included in this recall.
Consumers are encouraged to check their purchased Dole Fresh Vegetable products and discard the Endless Summer Salad Kit if the individual has a fish and/or egg allergy.
