The Winter Cereals Field Day will take place May 5 at the Stiles Farm Foundation Headquarters, 5700 Farm-to-Market Road 1063, Thrall.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service event will run from 9 a.m.-noon. The cost is $10, and lunch is provided courtesy of Texas Farm Bureau – Williamson County. Preregistration is required at https://tx.ag/WinterCerealsFD.
Two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units are available, one general and one integrated pest management.
Winter Cereals Field Day topics, speakers
The event will feature Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension specialists from Bryan-College Station who will discuss the new developments being made for winter wheat, and the research and field trials going on at Stiles Farm.
Winter Cereals Field Day topics include:
- New winter wheat varieties.
- New winter oat variety development.
- Diseases and insect pests in winter wheat.
- New fungicides for the control of rusts and scab in winter wheat.
